Distance. 5.6 miles

Elevation gain: 1,400 ft.

Level: Advanced beginner, moderate

Directions: From the I-210 fwy towards Pasadena, take the North Lake Avenue exit and head north until the end of Lake where it meets Loma Alta. Please pay attention to street signs in order to avoid a parking ticket.

Join SoCal Hikers & Trail Builders for an almost full moon (98.4% illuminated) hike to Echo Mountain at a leisurely pace in Celebration of Big Steve's Birthday. He has done so much for SoCal Happy Hour and Backpacking group that I think it would be nice for SoCal Hikers and Trail Builders to show our appreciation of his contribution and participation to the ongoing success of Happy Hour. Please bring something to share, snacks, food, beverages, etc.

Sunset is at 8:02 pm.

Moonrise is at 6:30 pm. Although the full moon is actually on Friday, the moon will still be 98.4 % illuminated for our event as long as we don't have cloud cover.

Whatever we pack in we have to pack out. We will all meet at the Cobb Estate gate at 6:00 pm. Please keep your rsvp current so that we don't wait for you. Since this is an out-and-back hike, you can return to the cars on your own at any time or wait for others to start going down. We normally stay at the top for an hour or so.
