What we're about

A co-ed social and book club.

"Bringing the gifts that my ancestors gave, I am the dream and the hope of the slave. I rise. I rise. I rise." ~Maya Angelou

The intention of this social/book club is to facilitate educational, financial, entrepreneurial, relationship and cultural events that enable us to take full advantage of the opportunities afforded to us that were denied to our ancestors.

Some upcoming events will be:

Tour: Alonzo Herndon Museum – Born a slave, Herndon went on to become one of the first Black millionaires in the U.S. and Atlanta’s richest black citizen

Book Club: Men Don’t Love Women Like You by black male author G.L. Lambert

Book Club: The Religious Instruction of the Negroes in the United States by Charles Colcock Jones. Published in 1842, this book sought to inform slave owners how to teach Christianity to their slaves. The “old time religion” may have worked for your grandma and great grandma, but is it working for you.

Book Club: She Ain't It by black male author G.L. Lambert
