Las Penas Saben Nadar gives us an intimate look at the life of a down-on-her-luck actress who seizes the moment during a monologue festival to air out her many complaints about the world of the theater. This tragicomic show had its world premiere in Havana, Cuba in 1989. Since then, the show has won multiple awards and various actresses have brought its main character to life on stages in Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Chile, Mexico, the United States, Spain, Germany, Switzerland and Sweden, among others. The play was written by the late, award-winning Cuban playwright Abelardo Estorino. It was presented by the Aguijon theater in 2013, however will be shown again due to popular demand.
