Volunteer with Ten Thousand Villages (Orientation/Info Session)

Regarding the info session, we can hold the sessions twice a month on Tuesday afternoons. Anytime between 2 and 6pm would work. We can provide Tea, Coffee, chocolate, and dried fruit as refreshments.

To give you a brief summary - Ten Thousand Villages is a non-profit social enterprise that partners with independent small-scale artisan groups, co-ops and workshops to bring their wares to our markets. Our stores are a gateway to the global village. From communities throughout the developing world, every inspired design is crafted with love using local materials (usually natural or recycled) and time-honoured skills by makers we have known and worked with for years. We provide opportunities for marginalized artisans to earn an income while empowering themselves and their communities.

For the info session we will do a presentation regarding our organization, the Mission and the role of the volunteers. We can then answer questions and also handout applications to any interested volunteers. Attendees can browse around the store to see the kind of products we carry and get to know the stories behind the products.
