Zizek's Event: live read and discussion

Discussion of the event is a staple of Continental thinkers, including Deleuze, Derrida and Badiou. Zizek's Event: A Philosophical Journey Through A Concept is an accessible introduction to this notion. Controversial as ever, Zizek gives lots of examples from popular culture, politics and religion and goes through many of the central concepts of his thought. His original contribution is to bring the event in connection with Lacanian psychoanalysis.

This event is a live read and discussion every Tuesday at 7 pm PST/10 pm EST. We take turns reading the text and discussing it.
