Details
Howdy folks! This group is dedicated to all things Martin Heidegger! Currently we are reading "Being and Time." A tentative plan is in place to follow this up with readings in Aristotle's "Metaphysics" and "Phyics;" Edmund Husserl's "Ideas" and "The Crisis of European Sciences and Transcendental Phenomenology;" Rene Descartes, as well as an investigation of Heidegger's later works.

If you haven't read this section, you are welcome to join and listen in, but please keep your audio muted and your video turned off. Those who have read it should have their audio and video on and be part of the conversation.
There are many, many terms in the text that will need some discussing. It might be helpful to write down all these terms as they pop up, and bring them up for discussion when it seems appropriate. Over the course of the whole book, we could add in little clarifications and definitions to the terms.
There are 2 translations I am familiar with: the Macquarrie and Robinson, and the Stambaugh. Discrepancies in the translations can be quite interesting.
