TALKS AND BIOS

Charles Burdett – Service Designer – Co-op

Charles is a freelance UX consultant based in Manchester. Previously Charles worked at the BBC and Manchester agency Code Computerlove. At this moment in time, he is helping Co-op Digital explore innovative solutions for their Food stores. Charles helps bring teams together by treating design and research as a team sport. Currently, Charles is developing Workshop Tactics, a deck of cards to help product teams get the most out of meetings.

Stacey Birkett – Head of Product and Service Design – BrightHR

Stacey is the Head of Product and Service Design at BrightHR. Before joining BrightHR, she worked with global clients to improve their processes and create new and improve existing products and services. Her PhD is in the field of Design Ethics, and she also has an MSc in Child Computer Interaction. Her work has focused on putting these qualifications into practice and helping businesses to provide better internal and external experiences.

Stacey’s talk will draw on her service design experiences from an agency and in-house perspective. She will also reflect on decision-making in the service design process and how UX differs from service design.
