UX Crunch: UX Research London

Details
When conducting research around experience, there are so many facets that you need to keep in mind to ensure that your tests are being carried out properly, efficiently and adhere to specific guidelines. But this can prove to be quite challenging when paired with added time pressures, limited resources and small budgets. Alongside the fact that the way you partake in research now could very different in comparison to the way that you used to just a matter of months ago- we're all transitioning into new ways of looking at the experience of our users and the way we look at this research and analyse our results is adapting and evolving.
Join us for some drinks and pizza and listen to our speakers as they explore how they've been utilising research ops and tools to harvest strong sets of results that can then in turn be analysed and used to inform updates to your product or service. We'll be deep diving into what methods may be the best for conducting research from home and how that could actually turn out to be easier and cheaper for your company. It's a great opportunity to meet some fellow researchers and chat to some fantastic people. We look forward to seeing you there!

Usefulness measurement: A practical guide for all UXers-
In this talk John will explain why and how to measure the usefulness of your product or service. He will discuss how to capture, interpret, analyse, visualise and report the findings. John will indicate how you may action the results, whether you are a UXer, product owner or senior executive.
Hollie Lubbock & Rachel Jones - Design Principal & Design Lead, ustwo:
Mix and remix your methods -
How to expand your research approach and think beyond quant vs qual.
Research has finally become an everyday part of the design process, but we often stick to methods we know and love, missing out on the bigger picture and insights that would help us decide what to do now and plan for the future.
Hollie Lubbock and Rachel Jones will share a practical approach to mixed methods research combining big data (quant), thick data (qual), and wide data (secondary and trends) to bring more insights to drive design and product decisions. They will walk through examples and case studies that illustrate how to expand your research approach and supercharge your products or services through insights.
Josh Burroway - Deloitte:
Products, objects and services are inevitably imbued with sociocultural and bodily meaning. Companies that neglect to explore social theory are bound to miss things that matter, leading to worse outcomes for users and businesses alike. Phenomenology – the science of lived experience and the existential conditions that underpin it – is one such theory. In this tall, I unpack the theoretical and practical tools offered by phenomenology to show they can help us reach deeper understandings human experience and how it connects not just to our being, but our “being-in-the-world.”
