What we're about
Welcome to TheVocalounge, a group created for everyone who loves singing. Whether you are a singer yourself or just love to be around singers, this is the group for you. This group is the home for singers who love to be surrounded by and be vocal about everything related to our singing culture.
The Vocalounge welcomes singers of all genres/styles and aims to be the place you go to meet and network with singers of all skill levels. Networking includes helping each other improve singing skill, learning new styles, harmonizing, songwriting, recording (independent, backgrounds, reference tracks, etc.), share vocal exercises and training techniques, practicing and performing song covers (for YouTube or personal page posts), or just want to hang out and chat about anything within our singing culture.
Why create TheVocalounge?
The Vocalounge was born out of my experience traveling and auditioning for shows such as American Idol, The Voice, The X-Factor, Showtime At The Apollo, and at many NYC Open Mic shows. At every event, I was surrounded by countless incredibly gifted strangers who immediately treated everyone like family, because we shared the love of singing. The environment was always electrifying and supportive. The Vocalounge aims to be the home for these singers.
We plan to create a small group meet up every month where we will gather in a public space and introduce ourselves, discuss singing related topics, and then sing a few songs individually or as a group. Discussions will usually follow a structure to keep the conversation on course, and then we'll break to work on whatever you planned to work on.
Bare with us as we begin this journey. We have a lot of ideas and can use all the help we can get, so if you would like to volunteer to help us manage meet-ups and build this community, please feel free to send me a message.
Welcome to The Vocalounge. For singers, by singers.
Live. Laugh. Love. And be vocal.
