The "Yoga Aphorisms" of the sage Patanjali is an ancient “Raja Yoga” treatise on control of the mind and body for the purposes of meditation and regeneration.
Each week we read a bit and discuss a lot, making this an excellent introduction into the true yoga of the mind.
Some familiarity with basic theosophical ideas, such as reincarnation, karma and spiritual evolution is helpful, but not required.
We use an English rendition by William Q. Judge, the Irish-American Theosophist and co-worker with H. P. Blavatsky.
Copies of the book are available for use in class, and for purchase at nominal cost.
