Welcome Trailblazers!..Not quite a night hike but bring a headlamp for the return to the parking lot. Been awhile since I last posted this hike, but I assure you it's a good one!

Plan on 6-7 miles of moderately strenuous hiking with 1500 +/- feet of elevation gain.

Wildwood Park is rich in historic and archaeological resources, unusual geological formations, and is home to a wide range of plant and animal life. The Chumash lived here for nearly 8,000 years until the early 19th Century. During the Spanish colonization of California, the land became part of "Rancho El Conejo" in 1803. Catttle and sheep grazed on these rich grasslands through much of the 20th Century. From the 1930's through the 1960's numerous Hollywood movies were filmed here, including "Spartacus" and "Wuthering Heights", as well as TV Series "Wagon Train", "The Rifleman", and "Gunsmoke.

We will head out from Park entrance trailhead down the steps to the Mooridge trail, then drop down into the Indian cave before heading into Wildwood canyon. We'll visit the teepee then head east down toward Paradise falls, then west on the lynnmere trail to loop around lynnmere and lynn ranch residential areas. When we complete the loop and head toward the indian creek trail. There are picnic tables and restrooms for a quick break to snack and chat before heading up to the indian creek waterfall overlook and lastly back to the parking lot. Hope you can join me on this little local adventure.
