What we’re about
This group is for everyone who likes intellectual discussion and the sharing of ideas and values. It covers a wide range of topics - art, history, philosophy, economics, science, culture, sexuality, beliefs - whatever people in the group are interested in talking about.
Each session starts with one member talking about a topic they are interested in. We then discuss that topic. The group encourages diversity of opinion with a relaxed atmosphere that allows people to express themselves openly without judgment or hostility.
Each session will have suggested books and web articles to read and videos to watch so that we can have a quality, informed discussion.

See all- Masculinity and femininity in 2025C/ de València, 209, Barcelona
In this session, we'll be looking at what it means to be masculine or feminine today. We'll be looking at questions like:
- What are masculinity and femininity?
- Where do they come from? Are they purely cultural/environmental, biological/genetic, or a mix?
- Are they important? What are their functions?
- How do these energies connect to our inner world?
- What is the relationship between these energies & our society?
- Do young people need masculine and feminine role models? If so, who are good role models?
We will be drawing on art, pop culture, literature and poetry to try to answer these questions.
This is a big issue so we are going to try to focus on gender expression - archetypes of how we present ourselves and behave - rather than broader feminist issues.
This session will be led by James and Laura.
Bring beer/wine/drinks/food/snacks/whatever if you want to.
