Hike Canyon Creek Meadows trail to the upper meadow (Another Dog-Friendly Hike)

Level 4.5~This is a difficult 7.5-mile loop with 1400 feet elevation gain to the upper meadow's viewpoint beneath Three Fingered Jack's summit pinnacles. Water is available most of the way for our 4-legged friends. Bug spray is recommended and a NW Forest Pass for parking is required. The road is gravel part of the way and in past years has been rather wash-boarded. We can carpool from Starbucks and a 2nd meetup stop in Sisters at the Sisters Ranger Station (Hwy 20 & Pine Ave.) can be arranged,if needed.

Always a beautiful spot for hiking. Some of us hung out in the flowery meadow while our dogs played in Canyon Creek and 4 adventurous hikers continued to the cirque lake and two of those made it all the way to the saddle.

This was a great hike and nice day. Thank-you Barb for organizing it and allowing dogs. All the dogs were great...and so happy they all got back OK. Thanks too to the rest of you for your consideration when dealing with hot doggie paws. Would love to do again, and go to the saddle as some of you did. Mary Fay

Chris, you can come with us if you don't mind 2 dogs behind the back seat. They sleep during the entire ride.

We will be hiking in a wilderness destination so for those that will be bringing your dogs with you, there are some things that you should be prepared for. Your dog should have identifying tags and be up on their shots and meds that include Heart worm and tick prevention. Just as you would bury your feces, you need to do the same for your dog's feces or be prepared to carry it in a closable bag.

I'm looking forward to meeting everybody. I drive a CR-V and can take 2 or 3 passengers that don't mind being in a car with a dog. I have a NW Forest Pass.

Frannie is pretty particular about other dogs. You dog could ride in the backseat with you though...

I think she would like that best if you don't mind. See you on Sunday.

Looking forward to the hike. I'll meet you at the Starbucks. I have a forest pass, will take a ride with someone who has an SUV, but if not available, my car can make it.
