Hey Hikers!
Please check out the Hiking Event Level Guide under the "More" drop down tab, then in files.
This guide will be used by Organizers to label hike, so that you can determine if you are fit enough to participate in that hike.
Thanks!!

[color=royalblue]This just a base for organizers to use, some hikes could fall in between Levels, if so, use the higher level to make your decision. Some hikes will have many photo opportunities too, which would make for a slower pace.laughing

Also, some people have mentioned to me about hikers not being prepared for hikes. As hikers, you should be sure to bring the 10 essentials or more on every hike. Don't depend on others, you never know. you could be separated from the group and out there on your own.

One more thing. Ticks! They're out there. Be prepared with repellent and proper clothing. And always check yourself for ticks when you get home.tongue

Hello Aaron-
Thanks for your post!

Perhaps these Handouts I used in my COCC Classes back in the day, will help folks today:

Basic Traditions: http://traditionalmou...
Ten Essential Systems: http://traditionalmou...
Tick Talk: http://traditionalmou...

Note that this web offers 100% free seasonal traditional information to all backcountry folks.

Thanks Bob!

Adding to the Hiking Event Level Guide: I will edit this on PDF as well. As many of you know, we often do hikes that have lots of photo opportunities. RE: Wildflowers, waterfalls and great scenery. Organizers will label these as "Photo" or "Leisure", as well as a main level.
I know this will take some time to getting use to, but I hope this will improve the over all experience for all.
