Chi Amigos - Project Run(a)Way!

Hola Amigos!

Project Run(a)Way is just days away! What could it possibly be about? As you may have surmised... it is all about Chili Peppers! No, not really... it is all about how to keep your Chibaby safe AND stylish!!

Our sponsor, Ay Chihuahua Rescue advocates strongly for using harnesses vs. leash/collar combos when walking our tiny family members. We do not want to inadvertently damage their trachea by unexpected/unintentional jerk on their leashes. Sometimes you are just **SQUIRREL** walking along and they get **SQUIRREL** excited about another **CAT** animal and go bounding **BUTTERFLY** to the end of **MASTIFF** their leash to give chase. That unexpected tug can lead to either instant, expensive and painful damage or scar tissue buildup over time for which surgery is the only remedy.

With that in mind, ACR has presented handcrafted body harnesses for sale at every Meetup. Their Adoptable Chihuahuas wear them to the Park where they are easily identified by the "Adopt Me" and "Rescue Me" patches on ACR's signature blue background fabric. The ones for sale (all proceeds of course, directly benefit their Adoption Program) are much more stylish! Ranging from simple, solid colors to super fancy fabrics with lace, bows and even matching leashes, they are an easy way to keep your dog safe AND make a fashion statement!

Project Run(a)Way is your chance to show off YOUR handcrafted safe yet stylish outfits! Knit a sweater that fits over a harness? Sew an entire outfit? Glue reflective tape to an existing harness? Flashing lights? Flags? OH MY! The possibilities are endless!!! So here is the skinny:

1. Contestants must be wearing a harness. No leash-to-collar combos.
2. Outfits must be either entirely crafted by hand, or if harness is store-bought, be adorned by the crafty hands of our Amigos!
3. All Outfits must be your original creations. Auntie So-&-So from New Hampshire cannot have made it for your Contestant... unless she is there to show it off!
4. Contest starts at 10:00, Saturday, January 25th.
5. Each contestant will walk the "runway" in front of 3 Judges and then the crafter will get a chance to explain their creations!
6. Grand Prize will be a handcrafted harness designed just for your Amigo by Master Seamstress Margie McKinley! Your choice of fabrics, adornment and even a matching leash will have your baby not only the best dressed dog in town... but the safest as well! Runner up, will receive a $10 Gift Card to Doggie Deli. All Contestants will receive a thank you gift for participating!

This is your chance to have some fun! Your designs can be seriously safe and gorgeous or silly and safe! You decide how to express yourself!

See you Saturday in Cedar Bark Park, and until then.... NURTURE YOUR INNER CHI!
Your Organizers,
Mistydawn, Jeff & Margie
