- Sand Safari sand sculpture at Surfers Paradise
The plan is to meet at 9am (Saturday the 23rd of Februrary) at Surfers Paradise where Cavill Avenue ends at the Esplanade (on the seaward side of the Esplanade). Before dispersing to engage in some photography, we can agree on a time (maybe 11.00am) and a place to meet for a coffee following the photography. Of course some of you, who like getting out of bed early, will have got there early and already will have done a lot of photography before 9am. As usual, please bring $1 to donate. It goes someway to covering the cost of the website.

Christmas Lights shoots, northern Gold Coast... Sun 16th Dec. rendezvous at Helensvale Shopping Centre car park, 6.45pm. Also Wed 26th Dec. - David Fleay Wildlife Park Photography
The plan is that we meet at 9.30am up at the entry gate ($23 entry fee). You can stay for a short time or for the day. For those of you who want to stay for lunch - let's eat at noon in the cafe. If you have a telephoto lens, bring it along. If you don't have a telephoto lens, there will still be plenty of photographic opportunities. Please donate $1. It helps with the cost of the website.
- Greenscreen shoot with FMG, Golden Hour, sunrise 5am, Snapper Rocks, Rainbow Bay
Greenscreen shoot, video & stills with Film Makers Guild members. Any wide angle or telephoto lens will be fine, maybe a polarizing filter too? Sunrise at Snapper Rocks, then up to Rainbow Bay lookout, and points farther north to Goodwin Tce., Burleigh Heads by about 7.15am. Look for Ian's red Pathfinder 4WD, mob. - Botanic Gardens Photography
The plan is to meet for a coffee at 9.30am at the visitors centre and then go and photograph flowers and insects and whatever. Of course, you are welcome to come early and do some early morning photography. Note that this is a favourite place for groups of photographers to meet and so we may not be the only group operating at this time. Bring a telephoto and/or macro lens. Also a sunhat would be a good idea. Please denote $1. It goes towards the cost of website.
- Swell Sculpture Festival
The plan is we meet at 8.30am on the footpath of Pacific Parade just near the turn-in into the Currumbin Beach Vikings Surf Life Saving Club car park. Parking nearby will be difficult. After meeting up we will wander along taking photos. The Swell Sculpture Festival is very popular and provides lots of opportunities for creative photography http://www.swellsculpture.com.au/ . Typically there are some good photographic opportunities from walking on the beach itself (so bring appropriate footwear). As usual, please make a $1 contribution – it goes toward the cost of the website.
- Last Minute Japanese Open Garden
519 Currumbin Creek Rd Currumbin Valley This Japanese Garden is open to the public for the first time this weekend only. With the Swell meet up on Sunday, we will only have this Saturday (22 Sept) to visit this spectacular Japanese garden, spanning 11 acres. The cherry blossoms are expected to be flowering by this weekend. This tranquil property features a cantilevered tea house, a 200 year-old dairy farm, rock garden and bush tucker plantings. Enjoy a lush rainforest walk or even a cup of coffee or homemade treats. There is a $5.00 entry fee (all proceeds go to charity) & dont forget your $1.00 for Neil's website management. Gates open at 9 am & I suggest that we meet at 8.45 am. I will need to leave by 12 noon, but you are welcome to stay until gates close if you like. This will be a great opportunity for photographers, and dont forget to bring your macro lenses.
