The Spiritual Path

This is indeed a very personal matter, as each soul is uniquely beautiful and different. We all are on the spiritual path, the issue is rather if one is ready and willing to take this work on conscious level, rather then accept the current pace of evolution based on the general level of consciousness manifesting in the world right now.

In simple terms, the first spiritual awakening one feels is an increase in awareness on how external factors influence one’s inner state. Most of the time this is not a pleasant sensation as it’s designed to shake our current status quo. We then begin to question the current situation. The actual work begins when one starts to voluntarily sharpen his awareness by consciously increasing the sensitivity of all the inner senses through which we perceive reality (also described as "being present"). By doing this a person starts to slowly distance from the self that is deeply involved in this level of reality and focused more and more on what is the cause of the currently manifested condition. Signs of spiritual awakening may be: changing sleeping patterns, flashes of inspiration, wave of emotions (from extreme hate to tearful mercy), old issues keep coming back, the desire to break away from old habits, manifestations of synchronicity, luck and coincidence in one’s life.

The Searchers Guide to Spirituality is group that wishes to sustain itself in the common effort to reach enlightenment. The principle is that if we need to maintain a certain effort, for example loosing weight or to quit an addiction, then we tend to surround ourselves with people that have the same goal, because that fuels our own desire to continue on the path (through inspiration, pressure or even envy). The path of the group will only be decided by the group itself, but rather the cohesion and inspiration around a single goal is what is required to continue advancing and not fall of the wagon. As I said before, the willingness to take the development consciously is the main requirement on the path, the program of evolution is already inscribed in us by nature, we just need to look deep enough to find it.
