Mindfulness in Motion

An opportunity for a time of mindfulness practice at our home and yard in the country...
If you have thought about doing a meditation retreat, this can be a step on the path.
If anyone would like to be silent during this "half day" of practice they may. (let others know during tea)

Schedule
9 AM Tea/coffee & discussion of "how is your practice going?"...what is working well?
9: 20 Instructions
9:30 Mindfulness in Motion
a 4 stage meditation with music, the Stages are: shaking, dancing, standing or sitting and lying down. Bring a Yoga mat or something to lie on (hard wood floors).

10:30 A. short discussion of your experience
B. optional Walking meditation during discussion (for anyone who wants to continue practicing in noble silence)

11 Walking meditation [Instructions first] outside or in.

11:30 Vienna's Guided meditation

12 Lunch: Vegetarian Pot Luck If we want someone to coordinate (to prevent the possibility of All deserts), perhaps someone will volunteer to handle it. Otherwise each person just brings a dish.

Please wear easy to take off shoes and leave them at the front door.

Please bring your favorite meditation cushion, bench, etc. and a Yoga mat. Two ergonomic/kneeling chairs will be available to try. A small towel is good for sneezing, etc.

Car pooling suggested.  Brian, Vienna, Neil and Sean know the way here.

Optional Modules after Lunch:

a Dharma Talk (recording on Mindfulness)

Practices:
Mindfulness using the visual field (sitting out back in chair watching the trees move)
Mindfulness of sounds (back yard)
Free-floating awareness (feeling: breeze, warmth of sun; thought passing through; birds singing...)

Notes: Sangha 'open house'
If anyone would like to come down for a visit and meditation (including a half day or longer) please contact me to make arrangements.
-I am open to doing 1/2 days or full more often.
- there will be revisions to this event so check back the day before coming.

A Dana (generosity) basket will be available if you wish to contribute (but is not expected).  The main things to bring are some food to share and an open 'heart-mind'.

'enjoyed practicing with members who could make it-hope to do more of the same type of events with a variety of modules. The warm, dewy grass on bare feet helped me to be mindful during walking meditation.

we can do this (or something of custom design) other days. If you want to, let me know. After 'forming' it we could post to let the group know. If any want to do that one, they might want to carpool w you.
