The LOFT is a meet-up location for the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and allied communities. With more than 30 regular groups and numerous special events throughout the year, the center provide and safe and affirming environment to be yourself and meet new people or reconnect with old friends. Our meet-ups fall under four main categories: support, education, celebration and advocacy.

The LOFT is a non-profit community organization based in Westchester County and serving the lower Hudson Valley LGBT community for more than 30 years and counting!

LOFT Watch Party - Disclosure

Online event

LOFT Watch Party is a film screening group that takes place virtually via Zoom! It gathers twice a month to watch and discuss LGBTQ+ films and documentaries. ________________________________________ LOFT Watch Party meets on the 3rd Saturday and the 4th Wednesday of every month at 7:00pm and shows the same film so you have two opportunities to watch! To participate in The LOFT's Watch Party you just need access to Zoom, no Netflix, Hulu or streaming account needed. We encourage people to use the Zoom chat feature while the film is playing so people can comment along. We will also have a short discussion period after the film where people can discuss their feelings and thoughts. Next Meetings: Saturday, August 15th, and Wednesday, August 26th at 7:00pm August Film Disclosure: Trans Lives on Screen (2020, Documentary, 1 hour, 40 minutes) The film follows an in-depth look at Hollywood's depiction of transgender people and the impact of their stories on transgender lives and American culture. It features Laverne Cox, Susan Stryker, Alexandra Billings, Jamie Clayton, Chaz Bono, Alexandra Grey, Yance Ford, Trace Lysette, Jazzmun, Mj Rodriguez, Angelica Ross, Jen Richards, Elliot Fletcher, Brian Michael Smith, Sandra Caldwell, Candis Cayne, Jessica Crockett, Zackary Drucker, Lilly Wachowski, Ser Anzoategui, Zeke Smith, and Leo Sheng. VIRTUAL: Grief and Loss Discussion & Support Group

A discussion/support group on Grief and Loss at The LOFT. The group meets on the 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month from 1:00pm-3:00pm. Due to COVID-19, our groups are taking place virtually using the platform Zoom. There is a Google Form available at http://www.loftgaycenter.org/announcing_virtual_support_groups that we ask you to fill out to gain access to the link for this group. This is just an extra security measure we have to help keep the meetings a safe space This is an ongoing series of discussions with Jill Sallie, MS/Mental Health Counseling. Pre-registration is not required. Throughout our lives we experience all sorts of types of loss such as a partner, family member, pet, job, health, relationship, etc. This discussion and support group is for members of the LGBTQ community to have a safe space to grieve and discuss the feelings of loss they are experiencing. VIRTUAL: Transgender Peer Support Group

The Transgender Peer Support Group is an open topic group run by a trained facilitator for individuals who identify as transgender, transsexual, cross-dresser, gender variant, gender queer or intersex (18 and older). Partners of transgender group participants are also welcome. Due to COVID-19, our groups are taking place virtually using the platform Zoom. There is a Google Form available at http://www.loftgaycenter.org/announcing_virtual_support_groups that we ask you to fill out to gain access to the link for this group. This is just an extra security measure we have to help keep the meetings a safe space This group takes place the 1st and 3rd Sundays of every month from 4:00pm to 5:30pm, and the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of every month from 5:30pm to 7:00pm. LOFT Peer Support Groups are open topic drop-in groups. There is no need to preregister and no fee to attend. Donations are welcome. They are led by facilitators who identify as peers with those in attendance. There is no fee to attend discussion groups but a $5 donation is suggested, more if you can, less if you can’t. *The LOFT utilizes many social media outlets to promote its groups and events including www.meetup.com. The RSVPs here on Meet-up are not reflective of the total number of attendees.

Knitting is a great way to relieve stress, challenge yourself to learn something new, make gifts for friends and family, and spend some time meeting other creative people like yourself!
