SPEEC Play Reading Series: "Harvest" by Langston Hughes

Details

Join us for the first play reading of Theatre Makers' SPEEC Play Reading Series of plays with social, political, economic, and environmental change (SPEEC) themes.

"Harvest" by Langston Hughes is a play based heavily on the real-life events of a strike of migrant farm workers in San Joaquin Valley of California in 1933.

Join us for a potluck (starts at 1 pm) and play reading (starts promptly at 2 pm).

Please let us know what you can bring to the potluck in response to the RSVP question. Vegan items are particularly welcome.

Everyone is welcome to read a part. If you'd prefer a particular role, please let us know in response to the RSVP question.

The location is Dalya's condo, 1 block from San Leandro BART; there is also ample parking nearby. Someone will be at the front door to direct you, so just look for the big blue/green awning and go up the front steps.

The building is wheelchair-accessible; please let us know if you need that accommodation in response to the RSVP question.

We request a $5 donation to cover the cost of printing your script, so please let us know if you can pay that in response to the RSVP question. No one turned away for lack of funds.

Please reserve your seat, as only 12 spots are available. Kindly change your RSVP asap if your plans change.
