SPEEC Play Reading Series: "Blues for Mr. Charlie" by James Baldwin

Details
Join us for the seventh play reading of Theatre Makers' SPEEC Play Reading Series of plays with social, political, economic, and environmental change (SPEEC) themes.
We'll read online this time due to the pandemic:
- "Blues for Mr. Charlie" by James Baldwin is based on the story of Emmett Till, murdered in Money, Mississippi, before the contemporary Civil Rights Movement began.
We will read this play in memoriam to those people of African heritage who have been murdered by the police/bigots and in honor of the Black Lives Matter movement (#blm)!
Warning: this play includes foul language and racist violence and murder.
Please RSVP and answer the question with your email address so that we can send you a PDF of the script.
Please arrive on time and be prepared to read the whole play, which will take approximately three hours.
Everyone is welcome to read a part. If you'd prefer a particular role, please let us know in response to the RSVP question.
