The Key to Theosophy is an 1889 book by Helena Blavatsky, expounding the principles of theosophy in a readable question-and-answer manner. It covers Theosophy and the Theosophical Society, the Sevenfold Nature of the Human Constitution, Life After Death, Reincarnation, Karma, Devachan, the Human Mind, the Mahatmas or Masters and Practical Theosophy for everyday living. The book is an introduction to Theosophical mysticism and esoteric doctrine.
The publication in 1888 of The Secret Doctrine by Helena Petrovna Blavatsky with its comprehensive outline of the evolution of worlds and of man opened wide the gates of spiritual inquiry. Not only did it compel analysis of the religious and philosophic dogmas of past centuries, but it also stimulated the aspirations of thousands of people in all walks of life. As a result, H. P. Blavatsky found herself deluged with requests for a simpler presentation of the ancient wisdom-religion. Her response was The Key to Theosophy**.** This book includes a Glossary of some 250 terms.
The Key to Theosophy is available to study for free on the following website:
https://www.theosociety.org/pasadena/key/key_to_theosophy.pdf. If you prefer to study it in a book format, there are over 60 editions. We prefer the 2002 edition. An ongoing Zoom Book Study Sponsored by
The Bradenton and St Petersburg Theosophical Groups“Ancient Wisdom for a New Age:
A Practical Guide for Spiritual Growth” a book byTerry Hunt and Paul Benedict
This book study meets the first and third Fridays of the month. This will be our fourth meeting on this book.
What is our purpose as humans? To become perfect. Perfection means graduating from the human realm to that of the Adepts or Mahatmas, becoming members of the Spiritual Hierarchy. It is the spiritual goal of all humans to become enlightened, to awaken spiritually to new levels of consciousness. When we recognize that, the path before us becomes clear. Once we are clear about our goal, our future progress is certain because there is nothing to cloud our vision.
The purpose of this book is to explain as clearly as possible where we humans are currently in the scheme of spiritual development, what our state of consciousness will be in the future, and what steps we can take now to accelerate the process of spiritual development. It will give necessary background information and some helpful practices. It will also provide some practical hints for individuals who are at the point in their spiritual evolution where they can make more rapid progress if they choose.
Here are some of the topics presented in this book for our group discussion: Our Spiritual Journey; the Spiritual Hierarchy; Physical Evolution verses Evolution of Consciousness; The Nature of the Soul; Levels of Consciousness; Enlightenment; the Period After Death; Reincarnation; The Adepts; The Nature of God; Lemuria; Atlantis; The Law of Cause and Effect (karma); The Cycles of Life; The Eternal Now; The Akashic Records; Remote Viewing; The Power of Thought and Thought Control; Meditation; The Power of Emotions and Emotional Control; Love and Happiness; The Spiritual Path; and Compassion.
