AND THE PIVOTAL ROLE OF MODERN THEOSOPHY”

Some of the deepest mysteries surrounding Theosophy continue to remain veiled, even to theosophists. By following historical hints from H.P. Blavatsky, the Mahatma letters, and other clues (including initiation into the mysteries, Soma’s role, connections to the Pythagoreans and Plato, and the intriguing circumstances surrounding George Henry Felt and the founding of the Theosophical Society), the pivotal role of Modern Theosophy will be revealed. This presentation is intended to help theosophists recognize the significance their foundational ideas have in the present discoveries cascading throughout the sciences.

Scott Olsen, Ph.D. is emeritus professor of philosophy & religion at the College of Central Florida. A life-long student of the ancient wisdom, he studied with esotericist Douglas Baker, physicists David Bohm & Mohamed El Naschie, philosopher of religion, Huston Smith, sacred geometers, Keith Critchlow & John Michell, and mathematician, Alexey Stakhov. A national lecturer for the Theosophical Society in America and the Foundation for Theosophical Studies in the UK, Scott lectures widely on the perennial philosophy with special emphasis on Plato, the golden mean numbering system, and transformative states of consciousness. Author of the international bestseller, The Golden Section: Nature’s Greatest Secret, he is presently working on, Divine Proportion: The Mathematical Perfection of the Universe. An avid collector of shamanic visionary art, he has also authored Mysteries of the Amazon: Visionary Artwork of Pablo Amaringo and His Students. On Friday, January 4, from 5pm –7pm, Scott will open his latest month-long gallery exhibit at the Marion Cultural Alliance in downtown Ocala: UNCOVERING NATURE’S GREAT MYSTERY of Art, Mathematics &s Science.
