We are happy to announce that we are going to do our first meetup for this season on Friday 8th of November. We will be hosting Dimitris Kontokostas who will be talking about Apache Kafka for us.
We set the goal for this year to do thematic, two talk events this season but we were not able to do it this time. Yet a single talk event will allow us to start our season and give us the chance to meet. At the very least we are going to have more time for socializing and talking with friends! :)
Introduction to Apache Kafka
Apache kafka is an open-source distributed streaming platform that was initially developed by LinkedIn and currently runs in production in thousands of companies.
In this talk, we will get an overview of the project, how it evolved in the last years and dive (not-too-deep) into some of Kafka's unique features that make it a good choice for a variety of applications
19:00 - 19:15 : Arrival - Socializing
19:15 - 20:00 : Introduction to Apache Kafka
20:00 - 21:00 : Pizzas / Beers / Socializing
As always the event is free of charge. Just bring your best mood and enjoy :)
See you all there!
