13th (Online) Thessaloniki UX Meetup - Design Heroes and Designing for Good

"Every designer is a hero waiting for the right moment. And in our ever-changing world, we need heroes.

These are the stories of remarkable designers around the world finding problems within their community – and taking actions that change lives. From the darker side streets of Copenhagen to the unyielding Nigerian sun, designers everywhere are stepping up to take on smaller projects that make a big impact.

This talk will explore their stories, why these heroes succeed, and how we as experience designers can replicate that success starting today within our own communities.

After all, you never need anyone’s permission to do the right thing – and the best time to do the right thing is right now."

About the speaker:
Doug Collins is a seasoned UX professional with years of experience creating beautiful and usable solutions for E*TRADE, Nordstrom, The Denver Broncos, Marriott International, The United Nations, The Prime Minister of Dubai, and many more.

Doug is the editor of UXNewsMag.com, and has contributed UX articles to Adobe.com, UXMastery.com, and UXMas.com, among others. He has also appeared on several different design and tech podcasts, including Kim Komando’s “Komando on Demand” and Joe Natoli’s “Making UX Work.”

When he’s not working on new designs at CACI, Inc., Doug cooks delicious things, lifts heavy objects regularly, runs long distances very slowly, and works hard to be the best father and husband he can be.
