We’ve all watched TED talks, right? So we all know how inspirational they can be. But I’m betting the TED Talks you remember the most are the ones you talked to people about, where you shared opinions, discussed ideas and ultimately walked away truly inspired.

The concept behind TED Tuesday is simple. We want to connect people through conversations worth having. Just like the good folks over at TED, we believe in the power of ideas to change attitudes, lives and ultimately the world. We also believe that massive change can start with a humble conversation.

TED Tuesday is an open source event, meaning it’s all entirely self-organised. Folks simply arrange to gather on the last Tuesday of the month at 6.00pm; over drinks, sharing food, at school, at a club or even at home over a dinner party.

At 7pm a TED Talk will be chosen and announced on Twitter using the hashtag #TEDTues.

Folks simply watch the TED Talk together, which is then followed by an indepth conversation. The awesome thing about this conversation is that anyone, anywhere can join in.

The aim of TED Tuesdays is to connect passionate individuals and changemakers around the country through TED Talks. A simple yet effective means of igniting impassioned conversations about subjects that matter.

If you’re interested in hosting your own TED Tuesday event, simply organise with friends and follow the hash tag #TEDTues on Twitter.
