Rescue Your Old & Slow Computer - Convert It to a Chromebook

Bring your old computer, and using a free software version of the Chrome operating system (Chromium), we'll convert it to a "Chromebook" - which means it will run fast and cleanly again.

The Chrome operating system is a great fit for old, struggling computers, but it does have some limitations (pretty much only runs the Chrome browser, can't access the CD/DVD on the computer, removes all the data on your hard drive, and can only print through the Web). We'll give a short introduction to the limitations and the benefits, and then we'll work on converting your computer if you want. I've personally done this on several machines and it's a great solution to have a good, working, once-again-fast computer.

If you decide to convert your computer, we can run the software first to make sure it will work on your computer before doing the actual installation. We're asking for $25 if we do the conversion, or $50 for the same plus with access to online tech support and a help forum.

Almost all computers less than six years old should work, but we'll try it on any computer you would like. Be sure to bring your power cord, keyboard, mouse, and monitor (for non-laptop computers). The computer must work (not well, just needs to work :) and having a working hard drive.
