Mobile eHealth & IoT Technologies joint meetup

Details
For our second event, we've joined forces with the IoT Meetup (https://www.meetup.com/Internet-of-Things-Timisoara/)! The event agenda will feature Alexandru Iovanovici, Teaching and Research Assistant at the Polytechnic University of Timisoara and Raul Adonis Raduca, an experienced UX designer interested in data science and AI, founder of UX/UI Timisoara meetup. Alex will guide us through his recent eHealth projects involving IoT devices in respiratory diseases resulting in significant benefits for patients and professionals, while Adonis will share his vision about how data becomes more and more the way of observing and understanding the world around us.
First part of the evening will be dedicated to IoT devices used by an UPT + UMFT + ”Victor Babes" Hospital team within “Morpheus” project for monitoring respiratory measures for Obstructive Sleep Apnoea (OSA) patients, respectively to a project developing a wearable set of devices helping to predict and possibly diagnose Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease. Alex will encourage participants to involve into an open discussion and brainstorming regarding possible further developments of these projects.

During the second part of the meetup, dedicated to topics from the Data Science field, Raul Adonis will bring to audience’s attention practical aspects to explain the increasing significance data is gaining these days: structured/unstructured character, types of data analysis (descriptive, inferential, exploratory), data distributions (discrete vs. continuous, binomial, Poisson, normal) and distribution characteristics (mean/median/mode, variance/standard-deviation, quantiles), sampling, sampling error and statistical significance and types of data visualizations.

There are serious opportunities for participants to understand that dealing with data is no longer the data-scientist's secret sauce, but it becomes an important element of literacy for every professional in tech.
