Here's the original description, written by the original creator of this group. What do you think we should be about?

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy says "man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much - the wheel, New York, wars and so on - whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man - for precisely the same reasons." This group might be for folks who are mad enough to believe that there is more to life than accumulating stuff; who think that there is actually some value in LESS stuff, smaller houses, and less consumption so that we have more time and money for life, love,...and to "muck about in water having a good time"; that a smaller house might just be a benefit rather than a privation. Alternatively, it might be for creative types who want to design a perfect gem of beauty and simplicity....and live in it. Or folks who believe that morality dictates that we simplify and downsize to reduce our impact on the planet. Or some who want to own a high-quality home, not rent-to-own a poorly-built box full of useless space from the bank while they watch it decay around them. Or hands-on folk who want the experience of designing and building something that is not so intimidating as a regular house. Or techies who love building science and doing the math, but find a full-sized house is too large-scale and too pricey for experimentation. Or libertarians who simply dislike the restrictions of building code, architects, permits, fees, etc. If you want to design and/or build your own tiny house, help build one, try out cool ideas with mockups, or just hang with other differently-sane folks, this is a good place....
