Details

Heroes needed! Are you game?

D&D Encounters is an exciting, weekly campaign that plays out one epic encounter at a time. Each week you'll defeat enemies, solve puzzles, finish quests, and perform heroic deeds, you’ll gain experience and gold. Each session only takes 90 to 120 minutes to play, so it’s easy to fit your game in after school or work. And each week there’s a new and exciting challenge.

One Shall Die!

Duke Adrian Abdel is a living legend in the city of Baldur's Gate, and much of the city has gathered to celebrate him and his accomplishments. On this day of festivities, though, the duke's past will finally catch up with him – with dire consequences. Murder has returned to Baldur's Gate, and brave heroes are the city's only hope to stop the violence.

The Sundering (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/sundering.aspx) will reshape the Forgotten Realms, involving the whole pantheon of gods, many nations, countless individuals, and the fabric of the cosmos itself. Powerful forces both mortal and divine are set in motion, and will bring an end to the Era of Upheaval. Over the course of this huge story event, players will have the opportunity to help shape the future of Faerûn and make their story legend.

Two Ways to Play

Of course, there are a great many players who enjoy playing D&D 4th Edition, as well as players excited about the D&D Next Playtest. And so, this upcoming season of D&D Encounters will support both D&D 4th Edition and D&D Next!

Character Creation

We highly recommend using the official D&D Character Builder (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/Tool.aspx?x=dnd/4new/tool/characterbuilder). Players creating new characters should start at level 3, and can use material sfrom any official 4th Edition rules source, including but not limited to Heroes of the Fallen Lands and Heroes of the Forgotten Kingdoms, as well as Player's Option: Heroes of the Elemental Chaos™, Player's Option: Heroes of the Feywild™, Player's Option: Heroes of Shadow™, and Into the Unknown: The Dungeon Survival Handbook™.

Players interested in playing D&D Next can bring a character of their own created with the most recent edition of the public Playtest Rules (http://www.dndnext.com).

We will try and have pre-generated 4th Edition and D&D Next characters available.
