COMPOUND COMPONENTS, Michelle Mendoza

Have you ever had two layout components or view groups that you found you were using repeatedly? Ever wish you could combine two or more components and refer to it by one name? Enter Compound Components! App views and custom layouts are created easily using this concept - once you’ve learned how to do this, you’ll be compelled to figure out a way to turn those UI designs into compound components. We'll look at some real world uses such as form buttons, loading/error pages and password fields. Previous knowledge on layout inflation and component instantiation is suggested.

At Nudge Rewards, Michelle heads up development on the Android app using tips and tricks to save time while building a stable app used by both customer-facing employees and management employees alike.

Previously on BlackBerry's Developer Relations team, Michelle has helped indie and enterprise developers build their apps to platform standards through tech talks and code samples.

THE INS AND OUTS OF AOSP, Stefan Mitev

A talk that will cover both application and platform/ROM development. We will start with the fundamentals of the Android OS, go through the basics of Android application development, then explain everything you need to know from modifying the platform to flashing it on a real device and will finish with some tips and tricks.

Suitable for both beginner and advanced users.

Stefan Mitev is a young software engineer with over 13 years of programming experience with mobile, desktop, web and recently with embedded development. Originally from Bulgaria, but studied and lived for quite a while in The Netherlands where he also worked in a mobile app agency. Last year Stefan moved to Canada to work on a mobile project at a company in the automotive industry. Loves Android and Windsurfing.
