Dear Members,

We've now completed 1 year of NEEM events. (4/7/09-3/23/10) The 19 events were held at the following establishments:

Antico Forno-Lunch
Artu-Lunch
Caffe Paradiso-Dessert
Caffe Vittoria-Dessert
Cantina Italiana-Dinner
Joe's American Bar & Grill-Brunch
Living Room-Brunch, Appetizers
Lucca-Dinner
Lucia Ristorante-Dinner, Family Style Dinner
Mamma Maria-Dinner Banquet
NEBO-Pizza
Rabia's-Dinner
Ristorante Fiore-Lunch, Dinner
Sel de la Terre-Wine Tasting, Brunch
Tresca-Dinner

In addition, we took a walking tour of the North End, attended the Fisherman's Feast and Feast of St. Anthony, shopped at the Haymarket stalls, watched the Columbus Day Parade, viewed the Trellis lighting in Columbus Park and had a brunch and a dinner during Restaurant Week. Whew! That's a lot of ground to cover in 1 year. But it was great fund and I think most who attended had a good time and made some nice acquaintances. Not all restaurants had great food but they served our needs and allowed us to explore 15 different venues. I will continue to appreciate your feedback after events in order to determine whether we should hold future events at the same place.

In the next year, we'll continue to check out different restaurants in the North End/Waterfront area. Some of the places I have in mind are Prezza, Bricco, Filippo's, Monica's and Joe Tecce's. Oh, and the best event NEEM will ever attend is scheduled for Friday night, May 14th. It's Taste of the North End. It wasn't held in 2009 because of renovations going on at the New England Aquarium but I attended in 2007 and 2008 and it was the best party of the year. More on that upcoming.

For our next event, we will go back to NEEM's beginning. Our first event on April 7th, 2009 was a Pizza Party at NEBO. So on April 7th, 2010, we'll have our 2nd Annual Pizza Party at NEBO. We'll have a chance to mingle all night and then go to Caffe Vittoria for coffee and dessert. Please check it out.

Finally, I would be remiss if I didn't give a shout out and sincere Thank You! to the 14 intrepid souls who braved a monsoon to attend our brunch on Sunday afternoon, March 14th at Sel de la Terre. That kind of loyalty is much appreciated and sets our meet-up apart from many other groups. So thanks again.

Jim
