What we're about
Toasted Sage Toastmasters is a non-profit club of like-minded people who get together twice a month to improve Public Speaking and Leadership Skills.
We at Toasted Sage Toastmasters are determined to share our power of Public Speaking, to empower you.
Looking to improve your speaking and leadership skills? Ace a job interview? Ignite your career? You've come to the right place.
How Does It Work?
A Toastmasters meeting is a learn-by-doing workshop in which participants hone their speaking and leadership skills in a no-pressure atmosphere.
There is no instructor in a Toastmasters meeting. Instead, members evaluate one another’s presentations. This feedback process is a key part of the program’s success.
Meeting participants also give impromptu talks on assigned topics, conduct meetings and develop skills related to time management and grammar.
Members learn communication skills by working in the Competent Communication manual (http://www.toastmasters.org/Members/MemberExperience/EducationalProgram/CommunicationTrack.aspx), a series of 10 self-paced speaking assignments designed to instill a basic foundation in public speaking.
Since 1924, more than 4 million people around the world have become more confident speakers and leaders because of their participation in Toastmasters. Toastmasters International is a world leader in communication and leadership development.
Membership in Toastmasters in one of the greatest investments you can make in yourself.
Why should I join? The Toastmasters program offers many benefits that help people in all walks of life. As a result of participating in Toastmasters, you will: Increase your self-confidence. Become a better speaker. Become a better leader. Communicate more effectively.
We are a peer-to-peer group where experienced members and new arrivals mutually develop through prepared project speeches, constructive evaluations and ongoing mentoring, all within the globally recognized educational framework of Toastmasters International.
Couched around a core of speeches and evaluations, our meetings include interactive speaking exercises that guests can join in, education sessions, vocabulary sessions and plenty of fun for all audience members.
Public Speaking and Leadership Skills are more a part of everyday life than ever before in today's interconnected world - from important work events to impromptu social media broadcasts, the way in which we present ourselves is a critical component of our personal and professional development
