Clearwater Community Toastmasters

For the time being, our meetings will take place online. We will be meeting online through Zoom on Thursdays from 6-7 in the evenings.

We all know that Communication and Leadership go hand in hand. You can't be a good leader without good communication skills. Good communication skills increases your chances of being an effective leader.

Toastmasters is a worldwide organization that strives to improve your communication and leadership skills in a fun and supportive environment. Our club has a lot of fun every week. Our agenda gives ample opportunity to participate in each meeting. We have timers to time the speeches, ah-counters to count the number of ahs and ums that we sprinkle in our speeches often. You could even learn a new word each week through our grammarian role, plus you will listen for descriptive phrases.

After all the speeches are done, its time for the part that every toastmaster likes: TABLETOPICS. Picture yourself in an interview. Pretty stressful! Tabletopics is an exercise in impromptu speaking skills. You will have 1-2 minutes to answer a question without preparing for it. Lastly, we have speech evaluations, which are 2-3 minutes long. You get the opportunity to help the speaker elevate future speeches.
