What we're about
Welcome! Thanks for your interest in Together Tools. We’re a supportive learning community focused on building our “tookits” to help groups to work better and achieve more together.
Our sessions are an exploratory safe space to try out techniques and discuss if and how we might use them in different contexts.
What's a Together Tools meetup like?
The meetups are currently in 3 broad categories:
1) Expert-led sessions – taster sessions led by someone with a specialism in a particular tool or technique. Previous examples include Clean Language, Constellations, Play 14 Energisers and Sketchnoting.
2) “Try out” sessions offering the group chance to learn with the person leading who may be wanting to try out something new or that they’ve only recently learned. They’re a chance for the session leader to try something, seek feedback or gain confidence before unleashing on their groups and allow everyone the chance to experiment and share ideas. Previous examples include a prototyping session for “History Pin”, trying out icebreakers and listening skills exercises.
3) Socials – informal gatherings to get to know each other and share more about our experiences.
Coming soon, we’ll be experimenting with running some more sessions virtually and would love to look at doing some design challenges both on and offline.
The intention when this group was set up was to collaborative and act as a convenor for a range of other groups as well as running our own. This is very much the aim going forward so it would be great to hear about groups you think we should connect with.
Who’s Together Tools for?
Anyone and everyone! Something we’re particularly focused on is creating an open accessible group that is not defined by sectors or titles. You might consider yourself a professional facilitator, a meetup or community organiser, a team or project leader, learning experience lead or focus group researcher… and many more roles besides. If you host or design group activities, please come along, learn with us and share what you know.
There’s no pressure to take the lead in sessions but if you’d like to or would like some support or a co host then please don’t hesitate to suggest it. We look forward to meeting you.
