What we're about

Philadelphia's Creative Writing Workshop (w/ Toho Journal (http://www.tohopub.com/)) is for writers who wish to get feedback, and to provide a nurturing atmosphere for creative endeavors. Generative Workshops are two hours: an hour for writing and second hour is for reading and critiquing. Thousand Words Workshops are feedback-focused. Open to all.

Currently, our meetings are taking place at Win Win Coffee Bar and A Novel Idea. Keep an eye out for location change announcements.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING (ABOUT OUR SHOPS)

It felt good to be writing together with fellow writers, to share observations, to have the opportunity to read my work out loud. . . . The class was fun! The time went very quickly and stimulated my writing through the week.

— Kathy A.

The group was very motivated and invested.

— Al O.

It amazes me how diverse the styles were and how simple prompts elicited such deep thoughts and expressions . . . I also really enjoyed this group of people. The group was very kind and encouraging.

— Marian F.

Each participant [was encouraged] in their craft of writing and exploration of yet-to-be discovered talents.

— Joe V.

Needs a location

Are you spending too much time alone? Do you have some work written and think it might be time for others to read it? If so, join us! This workshop is ongoing and for people of all skill levels. Writers "bring" up to 1,000 words of something they're working on (1–4 pages), read their work to the group, and then have their pieces critiqued. It's that simple.
