What we're about
"Ceud Mille Failte" or "A hundred thousand welcomes" as we say in Scotland. Welcome to the Meet-up site of the St. Andrew Society of Yokohama and Tokyo, the oldest so-called loyal society in Tokyo.
The Saint Andrew Society promotes friendship between Scotland, Japan and other nations through a whole host of fun activities from informal dances on Thursday evenings at the ANA Intercontinental to more traditional events including black-tie balls, a Burns Supper celebrating Scotland's national poet and parties throughout the year. We have over 1,000 members signed up in our database - please come and join us.
Interested in a fun night out with a friendly group of internationally-minded people? Would you like to meet new people? Keep fit and perhaps get even fitter? Our group gets together every few weeks for Scottish Country Dancing Lessons.
We have a small bar where beer and wine can be bought for 500 Yen. The hotel provides us with cold towels and ice water.
Our meetup is held at the ANA Intercontinental . These banqueting rooms are air-conditioned and spacious. Parking is also available at the Hotel (for a charge). Our sessions are usually two hours long, and has a charge of 2000 yen, which covers the charge for the room.
