Friendly Design Review Evening
For this new event, we are experimenting with a different format - a friendly design review session!
This is an opportunity to get feedback on your project or portfolio, practice your presentation skills, and learn from others in the community. Whether you're a UI/UX, product, or any other type of designer, this event is for you.
Event Agenda
7:00 PM - 8:00 PM: Live Design Reviews
We'll randomly select two presenters from a pool of volunteers. Each presenter will have 5-10 minutes to share their project or portfolio, after which the group will provide constructive feedback. This is a collaborative space to get feedback on both the project you present and your presentation style.
8:00 PM - 9:00 PM: Small Group Discussions
After the live reviews, we’ll move into small group discussions. At each table, you'll have the chance to share your own work, discuss your challenges, and get feedback in a more intimate setting. This is the perfect time to network and get to know other designers.
📅 Date/Time: August 28th (Thursday) 19:00-21:00
📍 Location: GxP Inc. 48th Floor, Shinjuku Nomura Building (10 minute walk from Shinjuku Station or 5 minutes from Nishi-Shinjuku Station on Marunouchi Line)
👤 Who's it for: Designers, researchers or anyone working on products who is interested in getting feedback on what they're working on, or getting inspiration from others.
🌏 Language: Bilingual (Mainly English for live design reviews, mix of English and Japanese for small group reviews)

デザインレビュー会 @ 新宿
今回は新しいイベントの形式として、デザインレビュー会を開催します。
ポートフォリオや作っているプロダクトなどを他の参加者に紹介し、フィードバックを得るためのイベントになります。ポートフォリオやプロダクトそのものに関するフィードバックはもちろん、発表・共有の仕方に関するフィードバックも得られます。
イベント詳細
19時~20時: デザイン発表（数名のボランティアによる発表）
グループ全体に発表してみたい方が一人5分ほどの発表をしてから全体からの質問やフィードバックに答える時間です。
20時~21時: 少人数のグループ内で共有
5人ほどの少人数のグループに分かれ、自由に他の参加者に作品やプロダクト・ポートフォリオなどを共有し、フィードバックを得るための時間です。共有したいものがない場合、他の参加者にフィードバックをしたり、気軽に交流を楽しめます。

📍 場所: GxP Inc. 新宿野村ビル48階（新宿駅から徒歩10分ほど、西新宿駅から5分ほど)
👤 対象者: デザイナー、リサーチャー・プロダクトマネージャーなど、作っているプロダクトやポートフォリオのフィードバックが欲しい方、他のデザイナーが作っているものにフィードバックしたい方
🌏 言語: バイリンガル (グループ全体向けの発表は主に英語になる想定ですが、グループワークはお好きな言語でお話いただけます)

Tips for Giving/Receiving Feedback
To keep our session supportive and productive, please keep in mind the following:
For Feedback Givers (The Audience):
- Be Constructive, Not Critical: Focus on the work, not the person. Frame your feedback as a suggestion for improvement rather than a judgment. For example, instead of saying, "This design is confusing," try "I'm having a little trouble understanding the user flow here. What if we tried X?"
- Use "I" Statements: Share your personal experience with the design. Saying "I found this part a bit difficult to use" is more helpful than "Users will find this difficult." It keeps the focus on your perspective.
- Offer Solutions, Not Just Problems: If you point out an issue, try to suggest a potential solution or a different way of thinking. This shows that you've engaged with the problem and are trying to help.
For Feedback Receivers (The Presenters):
- Listen with an Open Mind: The goal is to learn, not to defend your work. Hear everyone's thoughts before you respond.
- Ask Clarifying Questions: If a piece of feedback isn't clear, ask for more details. This helps the giver explain their point better and helps you understand their perspective.
- Thank Your Audience: A simple "Thank you for the feedback" is always a great way to show appreciation for their time and input.
