What we're about

This is the original note from our founder who is now happily living in Ireland. She passed the mantle over to Paul and myself. We remain true to her vision of it being a friendly and inclusive group. You don't have to live in Tooting to be member, we don't. If you want to have fun, find friends, drink, dine, dance, sing, laugh, love and live to the fullest, this is the group for you. Hello. It's great to meet you.

"I set this meetup to meet more people locally in Tooting and to have friends to have dinner with, locally, enjoy a drink etc. I have to say, this group has exceeded my every expectation.

I knew Tooting was diverse and interesting but it's developed into so much more in the last few years. There are great bars/pubs/ comedy nights/ quiz nights/ plays - All on our doorstep. I've formed great relationships with a lot of the local businesses and have negotiated some good discounts or special reservation areas with many of them. All for our benefit.

Sometimes we venture further afield to Kingston, or band nights in Camden. I'm into a lot of music and love to go out to bands/clubs. Sometimes, I will put them up as meetups, so you can decide if you want to try something different. Most of our meetups are local though.

I've made some great friends and are constantly surprised by how wonderful the new people that join are. This group has changed my life in a very good way and I hope it changes yours too.

The beautiful painting of Tooting Broadway Station is reproduced here by kind permission of Danny Lewis, who's ebay website can be found here on ebay under the name requiemballad.

I tend to make meetups for football matches that show Chelsea since I'm a fan, but if anyone wants to suggest a meetup to support another team, then I'm happy for you to organise this. Good Ideas for future meetups are always welcome.

On a final note - I put a lot of work and effort into this group - thinking up ideas and putting up lots of meetups and negoiating deals - please show me the same respect and turn up to meetings that I've arranged. I get very few, almost neglible no shows - but they do happen and they do disappoint me. Please email me or text me in plenty of time. No show rules can be found on the pages section of the header menu - where you can also find videos, information and songs about Tooting, for your amusement.

I do hope you'll enjoy being very pro-active and come along to the meetups - as far as I'm concerned, the more the merrier. All that awaits you is the chance to be able to laugh, talk with lovely people or to find out something interesting. Once you've come along, I've love it if you give a group review - Be honest, I'd love to know what you think.

So, if you want to find great people, doing fun things and making good friends, then please join. Tooting is after all, only a very small village.

Take care, "

Anna :)
