What we're about

The intention of this group is to form a community in the GTA that helps increase Bitcoin user adoption, and promote growth through education and collaboration.

The end goal is to form a Decentralized Autonomous Organization where we have a distributed community that offers services to help educate people about anything related to Bitcoin (history of Bitcoin, who made it, what it is, why it's so important, how to use it, how to use it safely and securely, how to invest, merchant integration, current trends etc).

Feel free to attend these Meetups to ask any questions you need answered. Various outlets for educational content are in the process of being provided in the form of Twitter feeds, Meetups at various locations, talks @ libraries/schools/various spaces, etc and more to come. If you'd like current info on Bitcoin, you can follow our Twitter feeds (@bitcoinTOmeetup, @kryptokidz_), our Telegram group (https://t.me/joinchat/BhNxzBJr5tGLXo9YWOJaP... WHAT TO EXPECT: Bitcoin-only content. No ETH, ICO's, DLT, enterprise/private blockchains, 99% of altcoins, etc. Come with questions, and we'll provide answers. It'll be experienced Bitcoiners sharing information and discussing it with newcomers. All levels can come learn - eventually we'd like to have general content as well as tech-related content. Bitcoin Q&A style.

HISTORY: This is an expansion of the Brampton Bitcoin Meetup https://www.meetup.com/BitcoinMeetup/ , https://www.meetup.com/Brampton-Tech-Talks/events/247624659/ where you can find full details there.

It's on it's fourth year now and is one of the GTA's first Bitcoin Meetups. After first starting off at parks, Tim Horton's, libraries, etc I did enough community engagement to land a connection with the local libraries to host the Meetups at one of their branches. With the help of the library, the city's Director of Innovation, a local news article ( http://bramptonist.com/brampton-is-getting-a-monthly-cryptocurrency-meetup/ ), etc the community has really helped the Meetup become what it is today. Expanding into the GTA to take collaboration to another level with other communities was always a long term goal, so let's make it happen together as the timing couldn't be more perfect.

Peace and Love

P.S We have an open invitation for like-minded individuals, or organizations willing to host us. If you have space you can provide, we can provide the Bitcoin content. DM to discuss:). Bitcoin is all about collaboration, the individuals and communities that can't mutually agree will fail in the long term. Let's build a system that future generations can be proud of. It starts with good BTC education, so let's start providing it as the world NEEDS it.
