Overview:

In April of 2021, the entire Reflektor Digital team participated in the annual 36 Days of Type art challenge for the second time. Building off learnings from their last time tackling the challenge, the team swiftly created 36 unique and technically impressive interactive WebGL designs; all while building up the Reflektor brand. In this talk, you'll learn about our plan and approach for tackling the challenge, as well as all of the takeaways and learnings that we picked up throughout the process.

Objective:

Help fellow creative coders plan for and anticipate some of the challenges it takes to complete a month-long art challenge, as well as learn some tips and creative coding techniques to try in their own work.

Target Audience:

Creative coders and artists hoping to learn how to tackle social media art challenges like Codevember and 36 Days of Type, as well as those curious about interesting applications of 3D web technology

Assumed Knowledge:

None! Beginner-Intermediate web development, as well as 3D tools, will help if you're planning on using some of our tips and techniques

- Learn our approach for completing the month-long 36 days of type design challenge using creative coding techniques.
- How to quickly adapt to changes and make room for our whole team of developers and creative collaborators to create work that's truly unique and inspired, all while balancing other work and responsibilities
- Get tips for how to quickly create beautiful 3D generative art all while building a brand and getting the word out there about your work
- Learn how to leverage graphics tools like Blender and Three.js with front-end web development tools you might already know like Vue and React
