Magento/Adobe acquisition straight talk

On May 21st, Adobe announced it's intent to acquire Magento from the private equity firm that Permira for $1.68B. Immediately there was significant amount concern regarding the open source community version of Magento that everyone loves. In the days and weeks since, a lot of information has been shared regarding the vision of Open Source within Magento. None of which are collated in one single place.
