Topic 1: Moving to the cloud with minimum downtime using Oracle ZDM
Speaker: Gleb Otochkin

Moving to the cloud is not easy. It requires effort and skills and, in most cases, downtime. How can you minimize all three requirements and move your database with minimal downtime running just one command from command-line? We will discuss the benefits and challenges of different migration methods and where the Oracle Zero Downtime Migration tool can help to save time and effort.

Introduction and discussion about common challenges for any migration to the cloud will be followed by a description of real cases of using Oracle ZDM tool for migration and what kind of issues we can expect in real life. I will try to explain the limitations and some of the benefits of using the ZDM tool for migration. Will keep it as practical as possible for people preparing or planning future migrations.

Using Infrastructure as Code, discover how to script a data center migration to OCI. Join this informative session where practical in-the-field experiences are shared. There is almost no reason to still have an on-premises datacenter. Both lift-and-shift and IAAS consolidation methodologies are discussed while introducing the OCI resource manager framework for using Terraform on OCI to codify infrastructure.
