  • This location is shown only to members

Join Karen Stephenson, author of the field guide: "Fields of Nutrition" (http://www.ediblewildfood.com/) who will be sharing her wealth of knowledge of wild edible plants on an educational walk through High Park! Come on out and spend the afternoon learning about wild edible plants. Find out how to identify plants, how to harvest them, how to use them in the kitchen, and how to store them. Many of these "weeds" are actually very nutritious and medicinally useful as part of a daily diet or in a survival situation.

Thanks Karen! Despite the on and off rain showers, that was alot of fun! We saw many plants of late spring/early summer and I learned something new :)

    Hello Everyone,

For those coming tomorrow if you haven't a copy of my Fields of Nutrition and would like a copy I will have copies available for sale at $5.

Please be sure to bring water - hydration will be needed tomorrow for sure! In the event of rain we will walk as it rarely rains for long (unless you are in Calgary- yikes!)

    Cheers!

    Karen

Perhaps my memory has become selectively hazy, but I thought I recall hearing at the last outing that there might be a slightly reduced rate for people who attend more than one of these food workshops. Since I might be in the city this Saturday I'd appreciate confirmation one way or another. I was very impressed with Karen's last presentation but would imagine that new plants come and go as the season progresses.

Hi Frank. Yes it is 25% off for people that have attended a previous event.
