Join the host, Vik Pant (https://www.linkedin.com/in/vikpant), and leading Natural Language Understanding (NLU) specialists to discuss applications of NLU and Computational Linguistics to business problems. This session will comprise of three presentations by NLU experts:
(1) Somayyeh Aghababaei, Ph.D. (https://www.linkedin.com/in/somayyeh-bahar-aghababaei/). Somayyeh is a Data Science Manager at LoyaltyOne. She will present a talk on "Feature Engineering in the NLU Context". Somayyeh earned her PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.
(2) Fatemeh Kazemi (https://www.linkedin.com/in/fatemeh-kazemi-b1286145/). Fatemeh is an NLP Researcher at geekspeak Commerce. She will present a talk on "Recurrent Neural Networks for Natural Language Generation". Fatemeh earned her Master's degree in the field of Artificial Intelligence from the Science & Research Branch of Islamic Azad University.
(3) Clement Chung, Ph.D. (https://www.linkedin.com/in/clement-chung-0102052/). Clement is the Director of Machine Learning at Wave HQ. He will present a talk on "Practical Advice for Implementing NLU Solutions". Clement earned his PhD in Machine Learning from the University of Toronto.
These techno-functional professionals are in a great position to discuss the application of production-grade NLU techniques in industrial settings. Presenters will discuss the types of problems that they solve with NLU techniques, the tools as well as data sets that they use, the challenges they face, and data science jobs in their organizations. Attendees will get the opportunity to network with each other as well as with the host and the presenters. An open mic segment will allow interested attendees to address the audience with fifteen-second lightning pitches about relevant topics. Complimentary refreshments including pizza and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.
