We all wish we were having a drink on a dock, but since it's winter in Canada let's see a doc and have a drink instead. Each month we'll be picking a new documentary to see. For March it's "Speed Sisters".
"Strap on your helmet and buckle up! Meet the Middle East's first all-women street car racing team, hailing from the West Bank in Palestine. Grabbing headlines and turning heads at improvised tracks across the country, these five bold and charismatic women have sped their way into the heart of the gritty, male-dominated scene."
Director Amber Fares will be in attendance to introduce the film and participate in Q&As
Because the theatre fills up very fast for these special screenings, I recommend you arrive at least a 1/2 hour early to guarantee good seating (6:00 pm). We meet by the concession stand in the lobby of the theatre. Afterwards the film we head to Paupers Pub for a drink or two.
Be sure to purchase your ticket online in advance as we can't guarantee availability on the night. http://bloorcinema.com/
See you there!
