This is a group for autistic persons where we can socialize among ourselves, discuss sensory issues, burn out, isolation, stimming and self-care, wax enthusiastically about our special interests, be ourselves in a safe, community environment, have fun and most importantly of all, support each other.

Please note:

1) This is not a professional therapy group but it promotes socialization with like-minded individuals as a therapeutic activity.

2) The group is run by a genderqueer (or gender non-conforming) person and welcomes all queer, trans, gay, lesbian etc. individuals. Please do not engage in any hate speech of any kind while attending meetups. Do not approach members regarding their sexual orientation or gender with the intention of offending them, criticizing them, voicing your disapproval of them or making them feel unsafe in any way or you will be removed from the group. Remember we must be open to learning about others and accepting them for who they are. When in doubt, just be kind and considerate!

3) The group welcomes people all across the spectrum (including self-identified individuals) as well as people with multiple diagnoses. Please refrain from questioning anyone's status. Remember we are all different, we have different strengths/challenges and different coping strategies and so we can be very different from each other and that is fine.

4) The group offers a safe space for people with anxiety/PTSD. Please contact the organizer to find out about special accommodations for anxiety-related issues (these can include advance 1 on 1 meetings, gradual introduction, arrangement for alternate communication etc.).
