Up the Humber

Christie Pits Park

Let's ride all the way up the Humber River to the Clareville Reservoir. We'll meet at the SE corner of Christie Pits Park at 10:00 AM, ride west to the Humber Trail, ride up the north fork towards Steeles, head west to the west fork and Clareville Reservoir, and then back south on Royal York to the Lakeshore and back into the city. The ride will be about 70 km round trip and will be mostly on dedicated bike trails (and a few streets), suitable for all types of bikes. I'll be keeping a pace in the 18-20 km/hr range. Please bring some lunch as it's a bit of a wasteland past Lawrence.

If the weather doesn't work out Saturday we'll do the ride on Sunday instead. I'll issue a weather advisory Friday night.

DON'T DO IT ALONE : Autumnal Equinox Ride along the Humber Trail

Etienne Brulé Park

These rides are for people who do not wish to cycle too fast.
**************
Meet in the parking lot of Etienne Brule Park (Below Old Mill Subway) for a slow and easy evening ride along the Lower Humber Recreational Trail to usher in the first day of Fall.
We will ride North on the Humber Trail to the staircase at Cruickshank Park where the trail ends (North of Lawrence), then return to the start. A total distance of around 20kms round trip. (If the group wants to extend the ride further north, depending on time and remaining daylight, we will.
The ride will be an easy pace. The trail is mostly paved path and will be fine for those with Road bikes, Hybrids or Mountain bikes.
Please make sure to bring enough water, a cycling helmet and lights! (This time of year, twilight begins around 7:30pm).

WEST MEETS EAST: Slow Rides in Both Directions Across the Galaxy

Todmorden Mills Park

*** AMALGAMATED EVENTS!***

Each group collects its members from the two opposite sides of the midtown Toronto, then they ride together along the beautiful tree-lined trails.

East-end Group gathers at the Todmorden Mills parking lot at 3:30 pm

West-end Group gathers at the Walter Saunders Memorial Park @ 426 Hopewell Ave at 4:15 pm

The EastEnders start cycling from Todmorden Mills to the Evergreen Brickworks, on to the Moor's ravine trail, and through the Cemetery to the Kay Gardner beltline trail.

The West-end group takes the York beltline trail followed by the Kay Gardner trail.

The two groups meet at 4:30 in the Memorial Park field which is a few meters away from the Bathurst - Roselawn intersection, across from the Kate Gardner beltline trail.

After the two groups meet, we both take the Kay Gardner trail down to the Evergreen Brickworks and on to the Todmorden Mills. If there is enough enthusiasm left, we will cycle south to the Corktown Commons by way of the Lower Don Valley and then back to the Todmorden Mills. From there, the WestEnders will cycle back home to the York beltline trail.

The East End group will be led by Helen, while the West End group will be led by Will.
