Meetup Events FAQ

Q: How much do I have time to RSVP to a limited attendance event?

A: The latest you can RSVP (and cancel) to a limited attendance event is 24 hours in advance. This is to prevent last minute RSVPs. In the past, we've learned that we are unable to accommodate or give directions to someone who RSVP's last second. We don't want any members to get lost or never find their way to the event, so if we get all our questions before the event starts well in advance, this way that won't happen.

Q: What are Meetup fees?

A: Meetup fees are the costs for running a Meetup group for an organizer. A donation of $2 is asked for every event, but it's not necessary. It's a small donation, but it definitely goes a long way!

Q: How do I get to the event?

A: We'll always have directions on how to get to an event. If you're still unsure or you want specific directions from your own place, Googlemaps and TTC are very useful:

Q: What happens if someone pulls a "no show?"

A: If you RSVP YES and do not show up for an event without telling us a day in advance, you will be given a "strike." If you get two strikes, then you will be banned from the group.

We do this because:

-It's unfair for the members on the waiting list. Some events have a maximum amount of members that can attend. If someone RSVP's YES and doesn't show up, that spot could have been used for another member who was on the waiting list to attend.

-We need to have a good idea of how many members are attending our event. Having a steady and consistent number helps us with this.

Q: I am arriving late to the event, is there a number where I can reach the organizer?

A: A number will be provided on the Meetup event page to call. We want to make sure you'll find your way there, so give us a call and we'll give you directions if you need any.

Q: I want to bring guests to the event...

A: As long as they're YOUR guests (and you specifically put in your RSVP that you're bringing guest(s)), Feel free to invite any of your friends or anyone else to the event with you!Meetup Events FAQ
