Dear Members,

Our groups in language exchange have grown considerably and it's time for us to specialize them further regarding the events and service provided. For this one, I will continue with all the free language exchange service as well as some English learning related events, but will be providing more activities, festivals, parties, and social events for Asian & international friends. There will be quite a few world-culture festivals during the summer in Toronto so don't miss out!

Events hosted by me and most other collaborating organizers will continue to be free. (If there are good events where other hosts charge a minimal fee (e.g., $5-10), I may permit their posting or promotions here to add variety and options or as sharing of information/opportunities to this group.)

Hopefully you can stay with this group and keep the links with friends you meet here. You do NOT need to be of Asian origin to be a group member here. Local Torontonians and international friends/visitors are more than welcome to join us. As long as you are interested in attending some of the events posted here, you would be welcome to stick around. (OK to make your decision later.) In fact I would like this group to be able to reach out to all other international/ethnic communities and connect to the mainstream community. (And thus the original "international language exchange" group provides a good foundation for that...)

If you like to join language-related meetups, Toronto Language Exchange (http://www.meetup.com/Toronto-Language-Exchange/) will be one of the best choices around:

Toronto Language Exchange (4,300 friends) (http://www.meetup.com/Toronto-Language-Exchange/)

http://www.meetup.com/Toronto-Language-Exchange/

• Other recommended groups in Toronto:

Study English in Canada (5,000+ friends)

20 & 30 somethings in Toronto: 3,400 Torontonians & international friends

Global Friends (5,000+ members @ Toronto) (http://www.meetup.com/WorldCultures/)

TORONTO NEWCOMERS (4,000+ friends, #1 @ Canada) (http://www.meetup.com/Canada-Newcomers/)

Overseas:

A nice meetup group in Korea: http://www.meetup.com/volunteers/

*BEST THINGS IN LIFE ARE FREE* Memberships and events will be always FREE for these groups (i.e., no cover, meetup charges, service fees from organizers etc.)

Welcome to join some/all of the aforementioned groups to continue receiving our free serves, stay connected to your friends, and contribute to the Toronto international community by simply participating and be friendly and upbeat;)

Cheers,

Chris

FYI: I am moving the original "ILX" group name to another city in Europe as part of an effort to establish a chain of free language exchange service & "international friends" communities globally.
